Hi, I'm Mak. I'm a leadership coach for new managers who knows what it's like to be filled with overwhelm, self-doubt and terror that I’d let everyone down. My Story
Are you a new manager that is feeling all sorts of overwhelm right now? Well then this series that considers some new manager tips is entirely made for you.
You know when I first became a manager I felt fear, overwhelm, anxiety, doubt and much more. The knowledge that I was responsible for a group of people, and the outcomes for everything made me anxious. I didn’t have any formal training and before the “promotion” I was just a regular gal doing her thing! No really, being a manager wasn’t my goal and so I didn’t really spend time researching or understanding what it entailed. So then when it happened, I was 100% unprepared. Later down the road, I learned of a stat that floored me but it put into perspective exactly what I was feeling.
60% of new managers under perform within their first two years of management
When I read those words I was like yeah – and I was one of them! I had no training whatsoever and I had no clue what I was doing! So then I had to intentionally study, read, invest and search out resources in order to get out of that first I would say year that was troublesome. No word of a lie, I must have searched new manager tips into google like 100 times during that first year. What I’m saying is that if you are in that boat – you are not alone. So many others haven’t been given the resources or tools and find themselves searching for that very term new manager tips into google as well.
